What an exciting week we’ve had! The highlight was our swimming sessions, where the children had so much fun learning to float and gain confidence in the water. It was wonderful to see their excitement and how proud they felt as they practiced new skills.
Back in class, our literacy learning was just as engaging! We worked on blending sounds, practicing handwriting, and playing fun word games like CVC word bingo, sound puzzles, and first-sound hunts. These activities helped strengthen our reading and writing skills in an enjoyable way.
This week, we had a blast learning about shapes with some fun hands-on activities! Our tamariki used a variety of materials like sticks, rulers, blocks, straws, and connectors etc. to create different shapes. They loved working together to build squares, triangles, and rectangles, using their imagination to explore how shapes come together.
We also went on a “Shape Hunt” around the school to spot shapes in everyday objects, making learning even more exciting. It’s amazing to see how shapes are all around us!
